IN September we celebrated our biggest ever combined weight loss by our latest WISE group held at Southfields Jubilee Centre, in Littlehampton, from July to September and we would like to congratulate them on their amazing success.

WISE (Weight Information Sensible Eating) is our popular free healthy eating course.

Over 12 weeks we offer advice on healthy eating and each week there are gentle activity sessions tailored to all fitness levels.

Our latest group have adopted positive changes in their eating and activity habits (such as cutting down on portion sizes and reducing biscuits).

Between the group they lost an impressive three-and-a-half stone in the 12 weeks. Well done to them all.

Despite the fact that changing long-standing habits can be daunting, the group found that the fun and engaging approach used by the Wellbeing Advisers made it easier to make small changes they can maintain.

The feedback was: “We can’t thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to change our lives for the better. We’re gradually breaking our bad habits...”

The WISE graduates will now be looking forward to enjoying consolidating the learning gained over the past 12 weeks with a free six-week Cook and Eat course.

They are looking forward to learning how to cook healthily on a budget.

Recipes that have been requested include chilli con carne and healthy macaroni cheese.

The Cook and Eat course is open to anyone and started on September 25 at the Jubilee Centre, in Littlehampton, from 4pm-6pm.
