PREPARATIONS for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be under the spotlight at West Sussex County Council’s strategic environmental services select committee next month.
Members will receive a report explaining what progress has been made on Olympic activities since the committee last looked at the matter in January 2009.
Chairman Duncan Crow said: “The county council has been leading a co-ordinated approach, working with a wide range of partners, in identifying and securing direct benefits to West Sussex from the 2012 Games.
“I’m sure the committee and the wider public will be interested to hear of the progress being made as we move towards the games next year.
“The committee will be looking to see if the benefits to West Sussex of the Olympics and Paralympics are being maximised.”
The Committee meets on Wednesday July 6, at 10.30am, in County Hall, West Street, Chichester.
