SPLITS sandwich shop in Chichester has been nominated for the Medium Business award.
In November, the shop made its way back to Chichester after five years away from the city.
With a second bakery in East Wittering, and after just two months in Chichester, it is a favourite spot to grab lunch for many in the city.
The person who nominated the firm said: “Staffing at the shop is very much a family affair, with Lorraine, daughter, mother and future daughter-in-law working at the shop. Treating customers like members of their family is very much the ethos of Splits.”
Lorraine Edney, who owns Splits, said: “We were contacted to say we were nominated and we are in complete shock about being nominated but also completely humbled by it.
“My husband, myself and all the lovely people that have worked for us over the years are all 100 per cent committed to keeping Splits a local welcoming friendly family business.
“We pride ourselves on knowing our customers and have always been happy to go that extra mile for our customers whether it be Splits-related or they just need support at certain times in their life.
“Over the years we have made friends with lots of our customers and know them by first names. When we started the businesses we wanted to offer a different kind of environment to work in, from what we were use to as employee’s and I think we have achieved this. Obviously we have a lot of respect for our employees not just for working for our business, but also for their loyalty to us and all their hard work to the standard that we expect.
“For me I love Splits, I’m very passionate about making everybody who chooses to spend their money in my shops know that I will always have time for them as without them, there would be no Splits!”
