PAGHAM pram race is racing ahead and it isn’t even Boxing Day yet.
The race committee ran its annual horse race night at Pagham village hall on October 11.
The event was certainly not slow to start as it raised more than £2,000.
It was well attended by more than 100 local business men and women who all got together to raise money for the Pagham pram race fund – and have some fun along the way.
The fund is a collection of money raised by the committee throughout the year.
It is then added to the proceeds of the famous Pagham pram race.
The Pagham pram race fund is distributed in January of each year to good causes locally.
Committee members said they would like to thank the people of Pagham and surrounding areas for their constant support of the race and also all of their corporate sponsors who help to make the Pagham pram race the success it continues to be. The committee is also always on the look out for local good causes to support, and if anyone knows of a local good cause that could benefit from a pram race grant they should get in touch.
An application form is available from the pram race website at www.paghampramrace.com.
The pram race, thought to be the oldest in the world, will once again take place in Pagham on Boxing Day, whatever the weather.
