A BOUNTY of treasure is there for the taking at a Bognor Regis event.
It will be carnival time in the town on June 15 and as part of the festivities plenty of activities have been organised to keep youngsters entertained.
With a pirate theme running through the day it promises to provide lots of swashbuckling fun.
One of the events youngsters can take part in is a free treasure hunt.
They will be on the look out for clues and for those who follow them correctly, there will be prizes waiting at various locations.
In each spot hunters will be able to pick-up a piece of a pirate costume.
Entertainers, children’s rides and sideshows will add to the spectacle.
There will also be some prizes up for grabs for those who make the most effort with their piratical attire.
In a change from the town’s usual carnival, this year will see the town council, in partnership with the ROX charity, host a new-look street carnival.
Instead of the usual procession of floats from West Park, all the fun will be along The Esplanade, Place St Maur and in the centre.
Entrants will each have their own space to showcase what they do and visitors will be able to wander around and take in the atmosphere.
Dance and music groups will also have the chance to perform.
Weather permitting, there will be fun on the water from the RNLI. Local business owners have also been asked to join in the fun by dressing their shops and even their staff.
It is hoped the shake-up of the event will encourage more townsfolk and visitors to get involved.
