Mobile play could come to Aldwick

FUN on wheels could be heading to Aldwick next year.

Talks are expected to be held between the parish council and Number 18 Project chairman Jan Cosgrove about the use of a mobile playscheme.

Mr Cosgrove has been asked to provide details about the Angmering Youth Bus and its possible visits to Aldwick for a council meeting on November 24.

Cllr Tony Poland, the council’s chairman, said: “We will consider this providing we get more information.”

Mr Cosgrove told the parish council’s amenities committee last week the bus would help to make up for the loss of youth provision due to county council cutbacks.

“I’m looking to bring the youth bus once a week to Bersted and once a week to Pagham,” he said. “That’s what I would like to talk to this council about for negotiation. In the short term, there’s a facility that could be deployed for one session a week. ”

Mr Cosgrove commended Aldwick council for its use of the popular play rangers during the school holidays.

He accused the county council of slashing youth services too much. For years, he led the Bognor Fun Bus.
