A COMMUNITY building in Middleton has received a financial boost from a telecoms company.
The Jubilee Hall’s management committee was given £600 from TalkTalk to sponsor the facility for the coming year.
Joyce Weston, who chairs the committee, said: “We are very pleased that TalkTalk has chosen to support the hall over the next 12 months.
“The donation will be used towards the ongoing refurbishment at the hall.
“It will make a huge difference to everyone using the hall.”
TalkTalk commercial director Tristia Clarke said: “Jubilee Hall plays an important role in the lives of many local residents.
“TalkTalk are delighted to be supporting them over the coming months.”
The sponsorship comes as the company invest £50,000 in its equipment in the Middleton telephone exchange as part of its expansion of its Next Generation Network to provide residents with faster and more secure broadband.
“TalkTalk is at the forefront of developing new services for our customers.
“By investing in the exchange at Middleton, we will be able to bring our great value offers to even more families in the area,” said Ms Clarke.
The network enables speeds of up to 14MB. Customers who have recently been upgraded to the network experience an average speed increase of 50 per cent.
