MARKS and Spencer has applied for planning permission for signs for its new Bognor Regis store.

The retailer has asked Arun District Council to approve the signage at the former Comet outlet on the Arun Retail Park.

As reported, M&S is opening a Simply Food
branch in the premises. Those plans were recently
approved by Arun.

The latest application concerns two internally-lit fascia signs on the front and rear of the Shripney Road building, one internally-lit totem sign in front of the store and three vinyl trolley bay signs.

Air conditioning plant on the roof is also proposed.

Jonathan Hoban, of M&S’ property section, says in a letter with the plans: “There will be limited visual impact on the existing character of the area and no negative environmental impacts.”
