Woman charged after fatal crash at Climping

A Felpham woman has been charged with causing death by careless driving following a crash which killed a Bognor Regis motorcyclist.

Dawn Devine, 54, of Wish Field Drive, Felpham, has been charged following her involvement in a fatal traffic crash at the junction of the A259 Crookthorn Lane and the B2233 Yapton Road at Climping, near to the Oystercatcher public house, on August 25 2013.

Robert ‘Jacko’ Giacopazzi, 48, of the Prince of Wales public house, Highfield Road, Bognor Regis, suffered fatal injuries after his Yamaha motorcycle collided with a Vauxhall Corsa driven by Ms Devine.

She has been bailed to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 24.

A Tweet last week mistakenly said the woman was charged with death by dangerous driving it should have read death by careless driving.

We apologise for any distress caused by the error.
