FLEET-footed fundraisers went the distance for Sport Relief in Chichester today (March 23).
Setting off from the university campus, the mile-runners went in two batches, with the first group setting off at 11am and the second group hot on their heels at 11.30am.
Jon Martin and Andrea Rainger, from Barnham, ran with their two children Jennifer, aged five and seven-year-old Alexander.
“We used to do it in Brighton,” said Jon. “This year is by far the best.”
He crossed the finish line with his daughter on his shoulders, adding: “I found it a struggle because Jennifer was going to run but decided she wanted a carry.
“We got into the park and she said she couldn’t do it anymore.”
Alexander and Jennifer were no strangers to Sport Relief, having been involved from an early age.
“They’ve done it from when they were in their push chairs,” said Andrea. “We had to run with the pram.” The children had also been taking part in Sport Relief activities at their primary school.
The longer distance runners set off earlier in the morning.
