THE sun came out for Goodwood’s exclusive new motor racing festival which got off to a flying start this morning (March 29).

The 72nd Members Meeting is a revival of an old tradition at the motor circuit for Goodwood members, but it is back after a 48 year absence.

With what Lord March called a ‘mouth-watering line-up’ it is set to be a fast and furious weekend.

Freddie Louwman, two, was at the event with his 1952 Frazer Nash car all the way from Oxfordshire.

Mum Queenie Louman said: “It’s the first time he said ‘mine’, when he sat in it.”

Elizabeth Taylor from Buckinghamshire was at the event with her 1933 MG K3 which was on show.

She said she had been to Goodwood motor events for many years with her father, and the car had raced at the Goodwood Revival in recent years.

There is plenty to do for motor-sport enthusiasts, with a host of races and paddocks full of rare and vintage cars.

After a day of motor-sport, guests can expect some first-class entertainment this evening, with a carnival, fireworks, theatre, a circus and much more.
