UPDATE: Man arrested after serious collision in Shripney

A BOGNOR Regis man has been arrested after a serious collision in Shripney.

Emergency services were called around 5.30am yesterday (Wednesday, February 5) to Shripney Road to a collision between a car and a cyclist.

The incident happened near to the Kwik Fit garage as the car and cyclist travelled northbound.

The cyclist was hit by the vehicle but the car did not stop.

The 45-year-old male cyclist has suffered serious leg and head injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

A 30-year-old man from Bognor Regis was located by officers soon after and has been arrested for causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop and report a road collision.
