FIREFIGHTERS battled for more than four hours after flood water flowed into homes in Aldingbourne.
Three crews were called out to Nyton Road yesterday (Thursday, February 6) after bad weather caused the excess water to come into three homes.
The crews arrived at 4.11pm and quickly got to work trying to reduce the water levels.
Using submersible pumps they managed to get rid of some of the water, they then carried out salvage work and protected the homes using sandbags.
The flood water had run into the homes from nearby fields.
Firefighters left the call at 8.29pm.
The junction of Nyton Road and Oving Road was closed by police, which caused significant delays to traffic.
