Sun, rain and snow in April for Bognor Regis

More than half a month's rainfall in one day made April wetter than usual in Bognor Regis.

The dampest day was the 29th with 28.3mm/1.15ins of rainfall. This was more than a third of the monthly total of 67.1mm which compared to the 46.37mm seasonal average.

Included in that total was the snow on April 6. But there was plenty of sun around as well.

The 216.6 hours total compared favourably to the seasonal average of 192.5 hours. Sunniest day was April 16 with 12.7 hours.

The sun shone on 28 days to ensure temperatures were warmer than average.

Hottest day was April 20 at 18C/64.4F as the mean maximum temperature was 12.8C, compared to the 11.8C seasonal average.

The coldest day was around the time of the snowfall with -4.2C/24.4F on April 8.

But the mean minimum temperature still ended the month well above its expected level at 5.8C against 5.3C.
