VOLUNTEERS who help to keep the streets of Bognor Regis safe have been given £1,000.
The Arun Angels street pastors received the donation from Sussex Police to help pay for training and equipment for new helpers.
They patrol Bognor, Arundel and Littlehampton town centres in a scheme which dates back to 2009.
They are out and about every weekend, engaging with vulnerable and drunk individuals to support the police.
Inspector Oliver Fisher, of Sussex Police, said: “This donation is to help ensure Arun Angels can continue to support those in our community who at the weekend may find themselves vulnerable through intoxication or other circumstances.
“The work is a valuable contribution towards reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in our towns.”
