FREE stop smoking sessions are being held by the body which runs Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital.
The sessions are aimed at helping smokers to stick to their new year’s resolution to quit the habit.
They are flexible and can be tailored to meet the needs of the individual smoker.
Lesley Berry, the West Sussex stop smoking service manager, said: “Quitting smoking isn’t easy but our support really does help.
“We know that there are more than 117,000 smokers in West Sussex and many of them want to quit.
“We helped more than 4,000 people quit smoking last year and now is the perfect time for other smokers to join them.
“The huge improvement you could make to your health by starting the new year smoke free will also benefit your finances as the average pack of cigarettes costs £7.46, which is about £2,722 a year.”
The West Sussex stop smoking helpline is on 0300 100 1832, from 8am-6pm weekdays, for details of groups or visit www.sussexcommunity.nhs.uk
