ENTRIES have been pouring in for our fun caption competition to win a fantastically-festive jigsaw puzzle by Bognor Regis artist Mike Jupp.

Following on from the success of our I Love Summer competition, we now have six copies of Mike’s hilarious I Love Christmas 1000-piece puzzles to give away.

Like all Mike’s puzzles,
the picture is intricately detailed and packed with visual jokes and puns
to keep you entertained as you piece it together.

To win one, all you have to do is supply a suitably witty caption to the detail Mike has picked out (right) – and we even have some early suggestions above to get you in the right frame of mind.

The scene of seasonal mayhem is the forerunner of the eagerly-awaited I Love Winter, the new Mike Jupp/Gibsons 1,000-piece puzzle to be released worldwide on January 2, 2014

It looks like Santa’s been caught unawares by a call
on his mobile at an innoportune moment.

What might he – or even his reindeer be saying?

Perhaps he’s been observed by someone in the houses below. Maybe even the weather vane has something to say – we want you to use your imagination!.

Whatever, we want you to come up with your own caption for the picture, and the funnier the better!

Suggestions so far include:

n Rudolph wasn’t the only one with a red nose this year

n He knew the last brandy was a mistake

n He knew he should have gone to Specsavers

Email your captions to us at this address: features@chiobserver.co.uk putting jigsaw in the subject line and including your contact details.

Or you can post your captions to Alan Cooper, Chichester Observer series, Unicorn House, Eastgate Square, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1JN to arrive no later than 5pm, Thursday, December 12.

Please mark the word Jigsaw on your entry.
