Police told of unwanted door knockers

CONCERNED residents from across Felpham and Middleton have reported door-step callers to police.

At around 4.45pm on March 15 officers were called about a man knocking on doors in Rife Way, Felpham.

The man, a description of whom has not been given, said he was selling products door-to-door. The same day, police were told about a man in the Links Avenue area, again knocking on doors, but this time he was asking for money.

Residents have described this suspect as Eastern European, of a stocky build, with black, broken teeth.

Police advice is to call them immediately if anyone comes to the door asking for money.

Four days later in Middleton, another
door-to-door seller was reported.

The police were called at around 12.30pm after the man, described as in his 20s wearing a green sweatshirt, was causing a nuisance in West Close.

Police have warned residents not to buy things from door-to-door salespeople and not to let any unknown person into their home.

Residents are also asked to watch out for their more elderly and vulnerable family, friends and neighbours.
