DETAILS of one of the biggest civil engineering schemes in Bognor Regis for decades go on show tomorrow (Friday, April 4).

An exhibition is being held ahead of work starting on a new viaduct to carry the eastern section of the Bognor Regis relief road.

The display will take place from 2pm-8pm tomorrow and from 10am-4pm on Saturday at Felpham Methodist Church Hall on Felpham Way.

Representatives of Hochtief UK, which will build the viaduct, will be present. Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, which are building 700-plus homes to finance the road, will also be present, along with Arun and West Sussex councils.

Barratt Homes’ technical director James Dunne said the exhibition would enable anyone interested to find out more about the detailed construction plan, working hours and measures to lessen the impact on nearby residents.

“We are delighted that improvement works are set to enter their final phase and look forward to discussing the viaduct scheme with interested parties,” he said.

Building the viaduct will be the final phase of the relief road. It will cross the railway line which serves Bognor and the Lidsey Rife.

Work around the clock is planned between May 5 and November 28 to allow for the viaduct’s beams to be delivered and erected.
