RIDERS jumped into the saddle to help raise money for two good causes.
Jeff Tidiman, of Grosvenor Gardens was joined by eight riders from the Southdown Velo and Bognor Cycle Club as well as four other unattached riders who all used pedal power to collect cash for St Wilfrid’s Hospice and the Snowdrop Trust.
Mr Tidiman said: “The weather was wet and windy at times and very dark after 2am as all the street lights go out.”
The cyclists had to complete six hours each in pairs over 24 hours, from 6am until 6am.
Mr Tidiman said: “The groups managed between 90-75 miles per pair and the grand total mileage was 330.”
The circuit was from Grosvenor Gardens to Church Farm via Pagham Road and back again via Cardinal’s Drive and Nyetimber Lane, a circuit of about four miles.”
The ambitious ride took place last month and was enjoyed by all those who took part.
