Parking fees set to go up

PARKING charges along a section of Bognor Regis seafront will rise next month.

The fees for vehicles to use the kerbside on Marine Drive West in summer will go up from 40p an hour for the pay-and-display places to 50p.

The decision has been made by West Sussex County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport Pieter Montyn.

It will take effect from July 1 as the first increase for five years.

He was asked by councillors earlier this year to consider the matter after they deferred a decision.

Residents’ permits will stay at £40 and £80 for the first and second permits for at least a year.
