FIREFIGHTERS were called after palm oil has washed up on an Aldwick beach.

The crew, from Bognor’s fire station, were called to Marine Drive West at 4.49pm yesterday (Tuesday, March 11) after around 200 kilos of the white substance, which is harmful to dogs, was found on the beach.

The palm oil was bagged by firefighters and then collected by an Arun District Council representative.

The fire crew left the call at 5.22pm after making the area safe.
