OLD and new faces enjoyed the fun activities on offer at a Yapton centre’s celebration day.

The Villages Children and Family Centre was packed when it hosted the event last Saturday to celebrate its improvements made over the past few months.

Donna Vincent, West Sussex County Council’s centre co-ordinator, said: “The new sand pit outside was particularly popular. There have been many positive comments from families and professionals about the changes.”

The centre is located next to the village hall and has benefited from some £50,000 of internal and external work to enable it to welcome more families.

The changes inside have provided a more creative learning space for children.

The building was closed for nine weeks to enable the work to take place. Activities continued at the village hall. Staff at the centre are keen to develop a vegetable garden. Any gardeners willing to help can contact the centre on 01243 642958.
