New centre opens for young people

A NEW FindItOut centre has launched in Bognor Regis after a move and a fresh look.

The drop-in centre, previously known as The Information Shop or Connexions service, provides useful information, support and links for 13 to 25-year-olds within the town.

Its new location is in Glamis Street. Those at the recent opening included West Sussex County Council’s cabinet member for children – start of life, Cllr Peter Evans, and Cllr Tony Gardiner, Bognor’s town mayor. Cllr Evans said: “FindItOut centres will continue to provide the same high level of support and information as the former Connexions service did.

“The relocation of the Bognor branch into large premises with improved facilities shows the county council’s ongoing commitment to young people within the town.”

The launch of the Bognor centre follows behind those in Chichester, Horsham and Crawley. They re-opened their doors under the new name at the end of last year.

More information on the new FindItOut centres, can be found by visiting the Your Space website at www.yourspace.co.uk. The Information Shop was in the Number 18 Project in Waterloo Square which has since relaunched as a separate scheme.
