MYSTERY surrounds the ownership of hundreds of plastic ducks found on Bognor Regis seafront.
Arun District Council’s cleansing team found some 400 of the yellow toys scattered along The Esplanade on September 1. Some were found beside Marine Drive West.
An Arun spokeswoman said it was initially believed the ducks had been raced because they had numbers on their bottoms. But this proved not to be the case.
“The ducks are being ‘held’, obviously they’re being well cared for, at our depot in Littlehampton until we know what to do with them,” she said.
“We’ve just informed Bognor Regis Police as they might have been stolen from somewhere.”
