SOME of the country’s finest model-makers will be showcasing their skills this weekend.
They will be putting their layouts on display at the sixth Swing model railway exhibition on Saturday (May 17).
One of the show’s stars will be Peter Kazar, the author and leading narrow gauge modeller. He is travelling from Yorkshire to show his Boot ‘Owd Ratty’ layout. He has said it will be his last. Visitors to St Mary’s Centre, off Grassmere Close, Felpham, from 10am-4.30pm will be able to marvel at the culmination of more than 40 years of model making.
The exhibition is being held by railway modellers from Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey.
Organiser Richard Rundle said: “We hope we get a really large attendance at the show. Our numbers have been growing year on year.
“One particularly poignant display, marking the centenary of the start of world war one, is the Wipers, Fish-hook and Menin railway.” Entry is £4 for adults and free for children.
