Memory man David recalls Bible passages

MEMORY man David Bathurst gave a Bible workshop at Middleton’s parish church.

David recited from memory a large selection of passages from the New Testament at St Nicholas Church last Saturday. They included the very lengthy sermon on the mount. David explained his techniques for learning extended texts.

He traced his gift of memory back to childhood days when he collected a large number of stickers of footballers and knew which number related to which player.

St Nicholas’ vicar Father William Marston said: “This was an amazing morning as we all learnt more about the Bible and also ways by which to develop memory techniques, all in aid of an important charity.”

A collection was made for his charity, Gambia Upcountry Development.
