POLICE confirmed the man hit by a train between Chichester and Barnham died at the scene.
British Transport Police (BTP) said the man was 30-years-old and from Chichester.
“BTP officers were called to the line near Drayton Lane, Chichester, on Sunday (December 1), after a report of a person being struck by a train,” said a transport police spokesman.
“The incident was reported to BTP at 6.09pm and was also attended by Sussex Police officers.
“Medics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended but the man, believed to be 30-years-old and from Chichester, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
“The man’s family have been informed.”
