BRITISH Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton is set to drive at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Lewis Hamilton, 29, will drive as part of the Mercedes-Benz celebration of its 120 years in motor sport.

He will drive a modern grand-prix car, run by his regular Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team, up the Goodwood hillclimb at the famous motor circuit.

On top of his 2008 world champion title, Lewis Hamilton has taken 26 grand prix triumphs and this year took the record for pole positions set by a British driver from the two-time champion Jim Clarke.

He will join Emerson Fittipaldi, John Surtees, Sir Jackie Stewart, Jenson Button and Kimi Raikkonen in the Festival of Speed line-up.

The theme of this year’s celebration is addicted to winning – and celebrates the world’s most successful drivers, the fastest cars, supercars, bikes and rally cars.

Lewis Hamilton is expected to take to the hill climb on Sunday, June 29.

Festival of Speed will take place from June 26-29.
