AN ALDWICK woman has been chosen as one of the country’s ambassadors for volunteering.
Jenny Hicklin was among 30 helpers given the title to mark the 30 years of Volunteers’ Week.
Jenny was a Games Maker at the London 2012 Olympics and the Sochi Winter Olympics. She is also a volunteer blogger for Join In which champions volunteering in sport.
She wrote 32 blogs over five weeks at Sochi.
“I hope I helped to raise the profile of volunteering a little,” she said.
Justin Davis Smith, of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, said: “Volunteers are an integral part of our society.”
