GYMNASTS have been given permission to run their new centre in Bognor Regis.

Regis Gymnastics received approval to create its new clubhouse on Durban Road.

Head coach Anna King said she was delighted the change of use for the former industrial unit had been given by Arun District Council. “We are so pleased the council has seen the potential in what we are doing.

“We believe gymnastics has something to offer everybody and having our own place will enable us to fulfil this,” she said.

“The gymnasts and parents love the venue and it already feels like home to us. We feel that a resource such as this is an important step in Bognor’s regeneration.” The club was formerly based at the Arena Sports Centre and moved into the unit last month.

It has secured half the funding needed to turn the premises into a top-level gymnastics facility.

The club offers general gymnastics classes for those aged from 12 months to adults as well as freestyle gymnastics.
