STUDENTS in Barnham have proved they are brain boxes as they celebrated a stellar crop of GCSE results.
The mood was high at St Philip Howard Catholic High School this morning (Thursday, August 21) as pupils arrived to pick up their GCSE grades.
Headteacher Dave Carter said: “We are delighted with these results and are very proud of all our students.
“They all worked hard and achieved their very best.
“We are most proud. Staff and parents have worked exceptionally hard too and I would like to thank them for all they have done to make these results possible.
“We are delighted that do many are returning to the sixth form in September and we look forward to welcoming many new students too.”
More than 82 per cent of students gained five GCSEs at A* to C grades and 72 per cent gained five GCSEs including English and maths placing the school in the top 25 per cent in the country.
Students Catherine Aldridge and Kate Dowell achieved A*s across the board.
While others gained a full set of As and A*s these included Frances Osborne, Jessica Carter, James Holland, Anna Grant, peter Hetherington, Elizabeth Holmes, Beatrice Walters and Samuel Heffernan.
More than a quarter of all grades awarded to students were either A* or A grade.
