A RENEWED search for a Bognor Regis town-centre manager has attracted 11 candidates.
The hopefuls had applied for the crucial role by Monday’s deadline.
Their details will be assessed by the Bognor Regis Regeneration Board’s members to enable a shortlist to be compiled.
Those selected will be invited to attend interviews in the week beginning February 24.
The number of those wanting to take on the £36,298 a year job is almost double the six who came forward after the first adverts last autumn. None of the four interviewed was deemed to be suitable for a role which is seen as vital in reviving the town centre.
Chris Heaps, the chairman of the Bognor Regis Traders’ Association, said: “Bognor businesses see this as an important and valuable step in growing the town’s prosperity.”
The person selected will have the skills needed to create a vibrant, attractive, safe and accessible and sustainable town centre. They will have ambition, enthusiasm and a strong negotiating ability to work with others to drive improvements.
