Don’t wait for the knock at your door

RESIDENTS across the Bognor Regis area who have not returned their annual canvass form for the register of electors could face a knock at the door.

At the last count, some 22 per cent of households, just over 16,000 properties across the Arun District, had still not responded to a request to check their details on the electoral register.

Households will already have received two forms to complete. The next stage is for canvassers to knock on doors to ask for this information.

Nigel Lynn, Arun’s electoral registration officer said: “Having to send canvassers to households that have not responded is an additional cost.

“Residents can save taxpayers’ money by responding by telephone, the internet or text where they have no change to their details, or by bringing the form into the Arun Civic Centre, at Littlehampton, or the Bognor Regis Town Hall if they do need to make a change.”

Those households who have not yet responded are urged to do so as soon as possible and February 10 of next year at the latest if their details are to appear on the new register.
