Day will be about health

THE chance to make sure you are in tip-top health is on offer in Slindon.

The Arun Wellbeing Service is joining forces with the Western Prevention Assessment Team and Albion in the Community to offer wellbeing advice in Slindon.

The teams will be in the village on May 12 from 10am to 2pm, giving locals the opportunity to have free wellbeing MOTS, free NHS health checks as well as getting home energy advice.

The MOTS are available to anyone over 18 and the team will be able to offer advice on general health and lifestyle choices.

Anyone aged between 40 and 74 could be eligible for a free NHS health check. Your risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes will be assessed and you’ll be offered advice and support to help you lower that risk. The check takes about 30 minutes and needs to be booked in advance, call 01243 642370 for an appointment.

Slindon Forge will be doing their bit and supporting the wellbeing event by offering a healthy choice meal option on the day complete with calorie count.
