Crunch time for housebuilding across area

A FINAL decision on housebuilding across the area looks set to be made at a crucial meeting.

The draft local plan will be considered at a meeting of all of Arun District Council’s members tonight (Wednesday, January 8).

Earlier this week MP for Arundel and the South Downs Nick Herbert revealed he has written to councillors urging them to reject the 2,000 homes for the Eastergate and Westergate contained within the draft document.

Also making its case at the full council meeting, at the Civic Centre, in Littlehampton, at 6pm will be the Village Action Group will claim the annual housebuilding target is based on people moving to the district from elsewhere in the UK and abroad, rather than local demand.
