THE crown is still in reach for a Bognor Regis beauty.

Kim Fletcher is through to the final round of the Miss England Competition.

Kim, 23, gained her
place by entering the regional round for Miss Sussex and won the beauty with a purpose section by raising £2,052.

She is competing as
Miss Chichester.

She said: “It’s not really sunk in yet. All the girls were lovely and I made some
great friends.

“I thought we all deserved to win, I would have hated to have been a judge, I couldn’t have picked, the standard was so high.

“I also feel so overwhelmed that so many people voted for me to secure my place in the finals of Miss England.”

Kim had been competing against her younger sister Kate, 21, who entered the competition as Miss Canterbury.

Kim was chosen to progress to the next round after a successful semi-final heat held on Monday.

To progress, Kim had to take part in a gruelling extreme boot camp gym session and create her own eco-dress which she modelled down the catwalk.

An important part of the competition was the
charity round which Kim has thrown herself into over the past two months.

The next stage will be
the final round, Miss
England Rocks, on June 16,
in Torquay.

Kim said: “There’s so much to prepare.

“After the fitness round, I definitely will be running more to try
to get fitter to get further in that round.

“I have to find that all-important dress and plan more charity events and so forth, so I’ll be a busy bee fitting this all around my work commitments.”
