SURGERIES are to be held by Pagham parish councillors.
The sessions will take place to enable residents to raise matters of concerns with their representatives.
Agreement in principle to stage the events was given by council members at their meeting last week.
Cllr Iain Baulch said the surgeries would show the council wanted to help those it represented.
“Hopefully, these will send a positive message to the community,” he said.
“It’s for us to raise our profile and to be seen to be more proactive, particularly when we are raising more money from people.
“I’ve been stopped in the street by people wanting to know things and come up with problems.”
The meetings’ frequency could be decided later, he said.
“People don’t like coming to council meetings. We can try the surgeries and see if they work. We can stop them if nobody turns up.”
Cllr Val Tomlinson said it would be a good idea to link the surgeries with the coffee mornings at the village hall.
