IT’S all change at the top for the district council.
Arun District Council’s cabinet has a new look after a reshuffle.
The cabinet has revised portfolios, and welcomes in a new face, former chairman Terence Chapman. Norman Dingemans has stood down as portfolio holder for customer services.
Leader Gillian Brown said: “Our new cabinet will be strongly focused on the issues that really matter to Arun, which is why I have revised the portfolios to make them more closely aligned with the council’s priorities.
“I would like to thank Cllr Norman Dingemans, who has served on the cabinet since May 2001, for the enormous contribution he has made to this council.
“During this time, he has led on all the major regeneration and economic development projects in the district, and, with his financial expertise and determination, has been responsible for this council having, and striving to maintain, a balanced budget.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Cllr Terence Chapman.”
The portfolio held by Cllr Dingemans has been split and incorporated into two of the existing portfolios.
The make-up is: Cllr Mrs Brown – leader and cabinet member for council strategy, Dudley Wensley – deputy leader and cabinet member for corporate governance, Ricky Bower – cabinet member for planning and infrastructure, Paul Dendle – cabinet member for leisure and amenities, Cllr Chapman – cabinet member for environmental services, Roger Elkins – cabinet member for housing and Paul Wotherspoon – cabinet member for community services.
