ORGANISERS of a charity night in honour of a Felpham girl have presented £5,000 to two good causes.
Kelly Cardwell and Vicky Paul staged the event in recognition of Issey Riley’s battle against cancer.
Issey, seven, and her mum, Sam Riley, helped to present £1,500 on Monday to the Love Your Hospital charity at St Richard’s Hospital for Howard Ward and £3,500 to the Smile4Wessex appeal.
Hair salon owner Kelly said: “I can’t believe we raised so much. We would like to thank everyone for their donations.”
Mrs Riley said: “I’m completely blown away by the amount that was raised. I’m really pleased with the support the community gave.
“Issey has just completed cycle four of eight of chemotherapy. She is doing okay.”
Carol Martell, a fundraiser for Love Your Hospital, said: “It’s a fantastic donation. The ward will be thrilled.
“The money will help to make the patients and their relatives more comfortable.”
Smile4Wessex is helping with a new children’s neurosciences centre at Southampton.
Show for Issey was held at Butlin’s in April with music and dance acts and fashion shows.
Issey had a brain tumour removed last August at Southampton.
