SPORTING experts have given top marks to the Inspire Felpham Leisure Centre.
The assessors at Sport England’s leading national quality scheme, Quest, have said it is a credit to the industry.
Quest is the best-known improvement programme within the leisure industry. Its rigorous assessments challenge the best leisure centres in the UK.
To achieve Quest Plus status, the leisure centre had to go through a two-day assessment, including a mystery visit.
Quest’s operations director, Caroline Constantine, said: “Quest Plus is a step-up from the entry level Quest and, as such, it is a more demanding process.
“By meeting Quest’s high standards, Inspire Leisure has shown its commitment to providing quality facilities and service to its customers.
“In these tough economic times, it is more important than ever that local leisure facilities can demonstrate their value, and the Quest process helps them do just that.”
The Felpham centre, off Felpham Way, is managed by Inspire Leisure along with the leisure centre at Littlehampton.
Both were assessed in several areas. These included customer experience, health and safety, business planning, environmental management, maintenance, pool water quality and teamwork.
The centres’ manager, Andrew Smith, said it was a fantastic achievement to reach the Quest Plus level.
“Quest is much more than a tick-box exercise,” he said. “It is an ongoing programme to improve our facilities for both staff and customers and a great way to demonstrate our achievements,” he said.
