FUN on the high seas will help make the town’s carnival a hit.
Bognor’s carnival will return on June 15, but thanks to a rethink, proceedings will have a fresh look.
As well as the new and improved street carnival, watery fun will also be high on the agenda.
As well as having a pirate theme, several water-based activities have been arranged, with the RNLI more than happy to lend a hand.
An RNLI spokesman said: “The RNLI are delighted to have been invited to join in with the fun at this year’s Bognor Regis Carnival.
“The two lifeboat stations that cover Bognor Regis from Littlehampton and Selsey will have plenty of volunteer crew and fundraisers at the event to come and chat with.”
The displays will take place on the water during the afternoon, subject to operations.
Lifeguards will also be on hand with sea safety games for the youngsters, as well as a tabletop sale with all sorts of RNLI goodies.
As the organisation runs purely on donations, there will also be donation buckets, to go towards helping to save lives at sea. This year is an important one for the RNLI as its lifeguards will be patrolling the beaches of Bognor for the first time from August.
The street carnival is run by Bognor Regis Town Council in partnership with ROX music and arts charity.
