A FONTWELL care home has received a 90 per cent approval rating in the country’s largest survey of the industry.
Westergate House finished with an overall performance rating of 909 out of 1,000 in the Your Care Rating.
This saw more than 20,000 residents in 1,055 care homes across the UK provide feedback on a range of categories. These covered four broad themes: staff and care, home comforts, choice and having a say, and quality of life.
Paul Middleton, the home’s general manager, said: We’re pleased with our results as they show a snapshot of what the residents who have responded think about the services we provide at Westergate House care home.”
It was just one of the ways in which the home received feedback from those it cared for, he said.
“We always listen and look to how we can improve on any comments that are raised,” said Mr Middleton.
Your Care Rating is designed to give residents a voice. Its results are a useful way for families to assess which care home to choose. But it is not a nationwide ranking of care homes.
Many other factors outside the survey – such as cost, location and specialist services – can also be relevant.
