BUS passengers in Yapton and Walberton are to benefit from an improved service.
The 66 route is being taken over by Compass Bus from September 1.
The company, which won the tender for the service from West Sussex County Council, said the frequency of buses would be increased.
A spokeswoman said: “The route will serve various villages and estates around Bognor Regis.
“The timetable has been improved and an hourly service has been re-instated on the main 66 route for most of the day.
“The time-consuming diversion via Glenwood has now been given its own dedicated route – 66A – with more journeys at main shopping times.”
The current 66 route is run by Stagecoach at a frequency of some every 80 minutes. There are eight services a day, Monday to Saturday.
The 67 route between Bognor Regis and Felpham is also included in the contract.
Compass is also improving the 85/85A service through the Five Villages from next month
