More than 60 members of three church congregations welcomed Easter Sunday on Climping beach.
The worshippers from St Mary’s at Yapton, St Mary’s in Climping and St Andrew’s at Ford gathered on the foreshore at 6.30am to welcome the dawn of the most important day in the Christian calendar.
The Rev Richard Hayes conducted the service, accompanied the hymns on his guitar and led the singing.
He said this was the tenth year of the event and told the crowd the benefice was taking the period after Easter seriously this year by preaching and discussing the joys and challenges of the Christian virtue of giving.
The service was part of a busy week for churches.
