THE highest number of affordable homes are being built across Arun.
Arun District Council has topped the affordable housing provision for West Sussex
The Homes and Communities Agency recently published details of the number of completed affordable homes in each local authority area during the four year period 2010/11 – 2013/14. With a total of 800 completed for rent and shared ownership Arun was the best.
Ricky Bower, the council’s cabinet member for planning said: “It is pleasing to see all the hard work and commitment from my colleagues at Arun District Council recognised by this report.
“We as a council have made a firm commitment, invested money and huge resources over the past couple of years to realise the aims of our Raise the Roof strategy.
“Of course we are well aware of the ongoing hard work to reach our published affordable housing targets, those in need of this particular housing provision and the benefit to the Arun community as a whole. ”
Arun is on-track to achieve 1,000 affordable homes by the end of 2015.
