THERE were smiles in Felpham as college celebrated good results for another year.

Felpham Community College was packed this morning (Thursday, August 14) as A-level and AS level students returned to collect their results.

Overall students achieved 98 per cent A* to E grades, with 54 per cent at A* to B and 77 per cent at A to C.

In the lower sixth there was further improvement with students achieving the college’s highest ever pass rate at AS level.

Headteacher Mark Anstiss said: “We are very pleased with the results from our Year 13 and 12 students this year.

“Our large sixth form at Felpham is able to deliver a diverse curriculum and all areas are clearly able to produce excellent results in both A-levels and BTECs.

“We have had our highest number of sixth formers apply to university including two students for Oxford.

“As a school we say well done to all our students and very best wishes for the future.”

There were good results across the board at the college with a particular strength on English literature (67 per cent A*-B) and physical education (67 per cent A* - B).

Additionally maths, chemistry, biology and phsics had good results, and there were also particularly good results this year in at, history and media studies.

Vocation subjects also impressed with a large number of students achieving the highest distinction level.

BTEC business studies, BTEC health and social care and BTEC IT all achieved there best results in 2014.
