From November 14 to 18, students and staff took part in an action packed week, taking part in activities and speaking to each other in a language of their choice.

Activities throughout the week have also included a taster karate lesson with a sensei, salsa lessons and an international movie night. The ‘International Bake-off’ saw staff and students produce traditional cakes from nominated countries.

Congratulations to Deryn Angel (Year Eight) and Sasha Mazantseva (Year Eight), who won the students’ competition and Leah Page for the staff competition.

Mr Cauchy-Duval said: “The objective of International week is to raise awareness of the importance of studying a language in a multi-cultural society. Both staff and students have really enjoyed taking part in all the activities we planned. For example, students have learned some basic Bulgarian, Thai or Polish delivered by FCC students. The week has been a great success and we look forward to doing it again next year even bigger and better! Find more pictures and information on the Languages Twitter account @FCClanguages.”
