EUROPEAN languages are on the tip of the tongue in Felpham.
Felpham Community College staff and students enjoyed a week of themed activities to celebrate the national European Day of Languages.
Teachers were encouraged to greet students or take the register in a foreign language of their choice and to add a touch of the international to lessons.
One of the highlights was also an international bake-off competition.
Matthieu Cauchy-Duval, the college’s modern foreign languages curriculum leader said: “This was a brilliant opportunity for staff and students to take time both within and outside lessons to appreciate our European partners.
“The bake-off was an amazing success and we were thrilled with how many people took part and the quality of the cakes produced. It was a fun and relaxed way for students to learn about traditions from other countries.
“The week has been a great achievement for the college and we plan to make it a yearly event.”
The media department hosted a special showing of Life Is Beautiful, directed by Roberto Benigni – with some students picking up the odd Italian word and school dinner menus were in French.
