IN PICTURES: 80ft tree blown down onto Aldwick cars

STRONG winds are battering the area today (May 5) with an 80ft tree being blown over in Aldwick.

No one was hurt, however the tree hit two cars – a Volkwagen camper van and a Peugeot – which were unoccupied.

They were parked in a road named High Trees, in Aldwick.

Along with the tree, a lamppost also came down in the high winds at 11.13am.

Police attended the scene along with West Sussex highways. The road was closed while the tree was removed. It re-opened at 1.35pm.
